On 21 February, the public presentation of the Delphi report by experts Personalising, a model for quality education in the 21st century took place at the Centre of Contemporary Culture in Barcelona.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Family Education Institution and given the importance of personalisation in education today, Impuls Educació produced a Delphi report on Personalised Education. A Delphi is a consultation with a group of experts on a topic in order to reach some consensus ideas.

In this Delphi, leading experts from around the world have participated: Coral Regí, Kathleen McClaskey, Barbara Bray, Richard Gerver, Paulina Bánfalvi, John Moravec, César Coll, Neus Sanmartí, José Bernardo, Antonio Bernal, Juan Ignacio Pozo, Francesc Torralba, Javier Tourón and Arturo Galán. The results are very interesting, as they provide keys to putting a quality model into practice in our educational system.

The event began with the presentation of the report by Ana Moreno, which highlighted the methodology used and the main objective of the research: to build a common framework of consensus on what is meant by personalization in education.

During her presentation, Ana Moreno explained that “there is a new educational context. In fact, the world is in constant transformation and this implies that the school has to have new challenges to educate the citizens of the future”.

To end the day, there was a round table of experts with Coral Regí, César Coll, Neus Sanmartí, Paulina Bánfalvi and Antonio Bernal, where they debated different questions about personalisation in education: what is personalisation, the role of the school, organisation, curriculum, teaching staff, personal guidance and collaboration between school and family. At the round table, the speakers highlighted that “resources and time are two of the most important aspects in the personalisation of education” with a special mention of the importance of the link that teachers have to establish with students, given that “in the context of personalised education, the role of the teacher changes a lot. They have to question what is happening, cooperate with other teachers, provide tools and solutions to their students”.
